Although I wouldn’t say I got the chance to get to know my grandfather as well as I would have liked and have great conversations with him about whatever he loved, I knew that he was a great person seeing as he raised my mom and both of my aunts. He has been there all of my life, just a car ride away and watched me grow up showing his love in the handshake or occasional hug. Even his postcards or letters, which I could literally never read though I always tried and appreciated the thought of them. I hope he has a great afterlife and I am eternally sorry for my mother and my aunts’ loss. Here’s hoping we can celebrate his life together as a family.
